These rules apply equally to personal data held in eletronic and in paper formats.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European Union Regulation that has been designed to strengthen and unify Data Protection within the EU. It comes into effect across the EU from 25 May 2018 and replaces the Irish Date Protection Acts, 1988 and 2003<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To assist UL Sport staff, students and clients to understand and comply with the Acts, UL Sport has a Data Protection Policy and supporting Data Protection Compliance Regulations.
