Water Confidence: For children aged 3 to 6 years of age, swim teachers go into the water. Each teacher has a group of max 5 children.
Beginner 1: For children aged 6 upwards who cannot swim. Children must be able to stand comfortably in at least 3 feet of water. The aim is to get children swimming without floats.
Beginners 2: For children who can swim a little, without floats. The aim of this class is to get children swimming on their front and back.
Older Beginners: For children with basic front crawl and back crawl mechanics. The aim is to work on front and back crawl and introduce breast stroke.
Improvers 1: For children who can swim front crawl, back crawl & Breast stroke. The aim is to progress technical skills in these three styles and introduce children to deep end swimming.
Improvers 2: For children who have completed Improvers 1. Here we continue to work on technical proficiency, with added time building confidence and strength in deep water.
Improvers Deep: For children who have completed Improvers 2, Class takes place in deep water.
Improver Advanced: In this deep water class, children will be proficient in front crawl, back crawl and breast stroke. Butterfly technique is introduced at this stage.
Advanced: Children must be able to swim 100m Front Crawl, Back Crawl, Breast stroke and Butterfly
Advanced Lane level 1, 2, 3: Children in level 2 and 3 attend two nights a week
Lane Level 1 (25m): Able to swim 25m of front crawl, back crawl & breaststroke. Must be able to swim butterfly over short distance. Must be able to do standing dive.
Lane Level 1 (50m): Able to swim 25m of butterfly. Must be able tumble turn. Must be comfortable swimming longer distances.
To move to Level 2 Lanes (Must attend two nights a week): Able to push off & dive with good streamline underwater fly kick. 200m front crawl with tumble turn & proper technique. 100m back crawl with correct turn. 100m breaststroke with correct turn. 25m fly with good technique and 50m with fins. 100m individual medley. 50m front crawl kick in under 1:40.
To move to Level 3 Lanes (Must attend two nights a week):
400m front crawl technique and turns. 200m back crawl and breaststroke with correct turns. 50m fly. 200m individual medley. 50m front crawl kick in under 1:25
Level 1 (To move into lanes level 1 (25m)
Must be able to swim 25m front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke
